Check your fee status

The University charges two levels of tuition fee: the lower ‘UK (home)’ fee and the higher ‘International (overseas)’ fee.

The amount you will have to pay depends on whether you meet the criteria for ‘UK (home)’ fees. The criteria for who should be charged home fees in England is set out by the Government in The Education (Fees and Awards) (England) Regulations 2007 as amended. We make our assessments in line with these regulations. For further information about the criteria please visit the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA).

EU, EEA, and Swiss Nationals starting a course after 1 August 2021

Most EU, EEA and Swiss nationals will be assessed at the higher ‘International (overseas)’ fee, unless they have protected rights under the EU Withdrawal Agreement, the EEA EFTA Separation Agreement, or the Swiss Citizens’ Rights Agreement and they meet the relevant residency requirements. The full criteria can be found in the guide produced by UKCISA.

Students from the Channel Islands and Isle of Man

Students from the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man will normally pay the lower fee level.

Assessing your fee status

We'll assess your fee status when you apply. We'll usually let you know your fee status and how much you have to pay in your offer letter. Sometimes we might ask you for more information to help us make the right decision. In these instances, we will ask you to complete our fee status questionnaire.

If you feel that the fee status you have been assigned does not fit your circumstances, we will review our decision at your request.
