UCSD is a significant priority partner for Southampton and a fellow member of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils.
There are particularly close links between our Centre for Cancer Immunology and UCSD's La Jolla Institute for Immunology. Most recently UCSD collaborated with Southampton in a research project in Chemistry in the search for new drugs and vaccines to combat the Coronavirus. MoU between our School for Ocean and Earth Science, NOCS and the Scripps Institute at UCSD. A student exchange agreement was signed in 2019 between Scripps Institute and the School of Ocean & Earth Science at Southampton with several informal research arrangements in the Institute for Sound & Vibration Research, Electronics & Computer Science, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology, Education and Medicine.
