About the Cancer Sciences Microscopy Facility
The Cancer Sciences Microscopy facility provides the equipment and expertise to acquire imaging data from simple bright-field microscopy to state-of-the-art super-resolution imaging.
We provide training in sample preparation, image acquisition and analysis, and data reporting and presentation. The techniques covered encompass imaging of cells and tissues using bright-field, fluorescence and single molecule localisation microscopy. We can also offer training in single-particle electron microscopy for the study of individual protein (antibody) molecules.
The facility was set up to provide microscopy support to Cancer Sciences. However, the equipment and training are available to the Faculty of Medicine, the wider University and external users. We provide:
- Single molecule localisation microscopy (SMLM)
- Wide-field fluorescence microscopy
- Bright-field and phase microscopy
- Training in sample preparation, imaging, and analysis
- Cryostat
