Dr Polly Hardy-Johnson is a Teaching Fellow in Primary Care Population Sciences and Medical Education (PPM), Faculty of Medicine University of Southampton, UK. Polly has several roles in the BM5 programme including as Module Lead for the Year 1 Student Selected Unit 1: Health Improvement module, and Deputy Module Lead for the Year 2 Endocrinology and the Life Cycle module. She is also a Senior Tutor one day a week for years 1 and 2. Polly is a Chartered Psychologist and completed her PhD in Health Psychology Research and Professional Practice at the University of Southampton. Polly previously worked at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre as a research fellow where she focused on adolescent health and wellbeing, global health, and exploring how qualitative methodologies and community engagement activities can inform the development of interventions that improve the health behaviours and lives of adolescents, mothers and children across the world. She has worked within international, multidisciplinary consortiums such as TALENT, INPreP and TEC-19. Polly is passionate about teaching and training, and creating a supportive and engaging learning experience. Throughout her career she has also supported post graduate students and early career researchers across the globe to develop new skills and build capacity in conducting methodologically rigorous research that generates impact.
